Part 5 of Skeptic Check: Glutenous Maximus, featuring Mitesh Patel, assistant professor of medicine at the Perlman School of Medicine and Assistant Professor of Health Care Management at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, describing his study on fitness trackers which demonstrated that people who could most use the help – people with chronic health conditions such as diabetes – are not the ones using the devices. It’s usually those who already exercise regularly. He also found that wearables are no more accurate than smartphones in keeping track of exercise.
